Deployment models

You can deploy Crystal DBA in several ways. Use this guide to determine what makes most sense for you.

• Individual. The fast and free way to get started with Crystal DBA. Run the Crystal DBA command-line tool (CLI) in a terminal, connecting to your PostgreSQL database just like you would with a client like psql. The CLI connects to the Crystal DBA cloud service to generate responses. As needed, it accesses your database to run queries.
• Team. Integrate Crystal DBA with Slack or Teams to enable monitoring, alerting, and detailed historical analysis. As in the individual deployment model, the chat interfaces are backed by the Crystal DBA cloud service. However, this deployment model requires you to install the Crystal DBA Collector Agent in your infrastructure, making setup more complex than in the individual deployment model. Team deployment of Crystal DBA requires a paid subscription.
• Custom. The custom deployment model is an enterprise option that allows you to tailor the installation to meet your organization’s specific security, compliance, and governance needs. It offers flexibility, allowing you to choose between using the Crystal DBA cloud service, Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC), and on-premises deployments. Air-gapped deployments are supported.
